Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT), formerly known as Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (NSIT), is a premier institution for higher technical education in India. An autonomous institution under the Government of NCT of Delhi, NSUT was established in 1983 as Delhi Institute of Technology, with the vision of addressing the growing demand for skilled manpower in emerging fields of engineering and technology, while maintaining a strong social and industrial interface.
The university is situated on a lush, 145-acre fully residential campus in Sector-3, Dwarka, offering a picturesque environment for academic and extracurricular activities. The campus is equipped with modern amenities, including faculty and staff residences, hostels, a cooperative mess, sports complex, banks, kiosks, and more, ensuring a comfortable and vibrant living and learning experience.

The Main Campus of the university, situated at Sector-3, Dwarka, spans across a lush, green 145-acre area, providing a vibrant and peaceful environment for a diverse community of students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The university is home to thirteen academic departments, each working collaboratively to ensure students receive the highest quality education, blending theory with practical application. These departments are committed to fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and holistic development, preparing students to excel in the ever-evolving fields of engineering and technology.
The University boasts a state-of-the-art APJ Lecture Theatre Complex, designed with energy efficiency in mind and equipped with cutting-edge technology to enhance the learning experience. This modern facility houses ten Smart Lecture Halls, each with a seating capacity of 125, and a Multipurpose Hall with seating for 270 individuals. These lecture halls are equipped with advanced audio and video systems for recording and live streaming of lectures, ensuring that learning is accessible and engaging. The complex also features VRV air-conditioning for optimal comfort, Godrej furniture for durability and style, a CCTV surveillance system for security, and excellent acoustics to ensure clarity in communication. This facility is a testament to NSUT’s commitment to providing a technologically advanced, energy-efficient, and comfortable environment for both students and faculty.

Research
At NSUT, both faculty and students are actively engaged in a wide range of cutting-edge research areas. These include but are not limited to: Analog Signal Processing, VLSI, Wireless and Optical Communications, Image Processing, RF and Microwave Engineering, Computer Networks, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Software Engineering, Soft Computing, Robotics, Industrial Engineering, Composites, Welding, Modern Methods of Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Process Control, Renewable Energy, Power Electronics, Hybrid Energy System, Bio-medical Instrumentation, Intelligent Control, Mathematics, physics and Chemistry. The faculty members at NSUT have made significant contributions to these fields, having published more than 2500 research papers in reputed international journals and conferences since 2016. Their research has earned them numerous accolades and awards, further establishing NSUT’s position as a hub for innovation and excellence in research.
Computer Centre
Central Computer Centre at NSUT is a state-of-the-art facility for nurturing the computing requirements of its students and faculty. It is well equipped with 400 All-in-One Desktop Computers with best-in-class configuration. These computers are populated with all the software required by the students in their curriculum. Central Computer Centre looks after the operation of the campus wide network (wired and Wifi) of NSUT which covers every nook and corner of the campus. NSUT has a 1 Gbps Internet Link from NKN which is being upgraded to 10 Gbps in the coming few months. Computer Centre also manages the University’s Webserver, Email facility for every NSUTian and Cloud based University Management System.
Center of Excellence (Artificial Intelligence)
To support the academics in AI, the Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Artificial Intelligence at NSUT shall provide the high-performance computing (HPC) facility for the institutions of Degree and Diploma levels under Govt. of NCT of Delhi. The Centre of Excellence is developed with the financial support from the DTTE/DKDF. High-performance computing applications in Artificial Intelligence shall make use of Deep Neural Network Models, which typically consist of very large matrix multiplication and accumulation operations. These operations can be computed on multiple cores and are embarrassingly parallelizable on Graphical Processing Units. Further, Tensor cores enable these operations in mixed precisions without losing any accuracy.
The University has established two more Centres namely- Centre of Internet of Things, and Fab Lab.
State of the Art Studio
NSUT has established a state-of-the-art studio designed for recording and live streaming of lectures, interviews, debates, and other academic or extracurricular activities. This cutting-edge facility aims to enhance the university's digital engagement and provide students with an innovative platform for learning.
In addition to its primary function, the studio will also be used for offering skill-based short-term courses in areas such as photography, video editing, and camera operations, enabling students to gain practical skills in media production. This initiative will contribute to the holistic development of students, preparing them for careers in media and communication.
Campus Facilities
The NSUT campus is equipped with a wide array of modern facilities designed to support the academic, physical, and emotional well-being of students, faculty, and staff. These include a medical facility offering services such as physiotherapy and homeopathy, ensuring comprehensive healthcare for the campus community. To maintain uninterrupted activities, the campus has reliable power backup. The Incubator Centre provides a platform for students, alumni, and faculty to nurture entrepreneurial ideas. For holistic development, there is a Yoga & Meditation Centre and a well-equipped gym facility promoting physical and mental well-being. The university's management and networking systems facilitate smooth operations, with internet and broadband facilities ensuring constant connectivity across the fully Wi-Fi enabled campus.
Security and accessibility are paramount, with CCTV surveillance and a biometric system regulating entry. The Student Activity Centre fosters extracurricular engagement, while the sports complex offers a variety of recreational options. For convenience, the campus houses two banks, an ATM, and a shopping complex for daily necessities. The Horticulture Department takes care of the lush green lawns, contributing to the serene campus environment, which is further enhanced by the abundant flora and fauna that envelop the entire university.
In addition to these facilities, counseling services are available to support the mental and emotional health of students. A trained and professionally qualified psychologist is on campus to assist students with their psychological and emotional needs, ensuring a well-rounded and supportive university experience.
Placements
_The past performance of outgoing batches at NSUT has been a matter of great pride for the university. Top-tier companies such as Google, Goldman Sachs, Intuit, Microsoft, Amazon, Walmart, LinkedIn, Tower Research, Adobe, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, Synopsys, SanDisk, Nvidia, Maruti, Samsung, Bain, KPMG, McKinsey, PWC, GAI, BEL, C-Dot, Aricent, Accenture, and several others have been regularly visiting the campus for recruitment. The number of companies visiting for placements continues to rise year after year. Furthermore, a number of Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) have also visited NSUT and regularly recruited talented graduates. The university has also witnessed outstanding success among its alumni, with some securing top ranks in the prestigious UPSC examinations, including Rank 1 and Rank 3, transitioning into administrative roles. This reflects the exceptional quality of education and training at NSUT.
_Incubation and Innovation Foundation (NSUT-IIF)
_NSUT Incubation and Innovation Foundation (NSUT-IIF) is a key initiative within the university, established to support and nurture startups from NSUT students, alumni, faculty, and other incubatees under the guidelines set by the Delhi Government. The foundation provides seed money/funding to startups for a two-year period, fostering an entrepreneurial ecosystem within the university.
_NSUT's commitment to innovation was recognized when it won the first prize in the "Institution Supporting Startups" category, sponsored by NITI Aayog and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The NSUT-IIF offers a comprehensive range of support services for startups, including mentorship, resources, and assistance in identifying new incubatees. Some of the successful startups incubated by NSUT-IIF include Zalonin, Vkarma, CacheFi, and Bonfarmo.
_In addition to the incubation support, various societies at NSUT, such as IEEE, SAE, ISA, CSI, and CEDT Lab, play a pivotal role in helping students develop the skills required to create technology-based projects. These societies provide platforms for students to collaborate, innovate, and implement their ideas, contributing to the university's thriving startup ecosystem.
_Hostels
The university maintains six hostels on the main campus, providing accommodation for both male and female students of main campus. Among these, four hostels are dedicated to male students, named Aryabhata Hostel, Bhaskar Hostel, Raman Hostel, and Ramanujan Hostel, each with a capacity of over 270 students. These hostels offer single-seater and double-seater rooms, each furnished with basic amenities such as a cot, chair, table, cupboard, tube light, and fan. The two girls' hostels, Sarasvati Hostel and Kaveri Hostel, offer triple-seater rooms, with Kaveri Hostel being air-conditioned for added comfort.
All hostels provide mess facilities to cater to the residents' daily meals. In addition to the living spaces, the hostels are equipped with a common room, gymnasium, reading room, and sports facilities to ensure a balanced lifestyle. The university ensures that round-the-clock water and electricity facilities are available to the hostel residents, ensuring convenience and comfort.
Moreover, the university has made concerted efforts to offer a wholesome hostel experience, enabling students to focus on their academic goals while enjoying a comfortable living environment. The university also provides specialized accommodation for foreign students, with two hostels designed to house 52 male and 52 female international students, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to cater to their needs.
Central Library
The NSUT Central Library serves as the heart of the university, occupying the first and mezzanine floors of a centrally air-conditioned library building, with a total area of 2000 square meters. It is the largest library in the Delhi Government Library Network, part of the initiative 'A Digital Agenda for Automation and Networking of Government Libraries' by NIC. The library is dedicated to meeting the diverse needs of the university community, providing both print and electronic publications to support teaching, research, training, and the overall academic and professional development of students, faculty, and staff. To ensure seamless access to resources, the library offers automated and personalized services, which can be accessed conveniently by users through their mobile phones. This system supports the university’s goal of fostering quality education and contributing to the development of the nation.
Sports Activities
NSUT offers state-of-the-art facilities in the domain of physical education, ensuring that students have access to a wide range of modern sports and fitness amenities. These include a fully air-conditioned gymnasium equipped with the latest fitness and strength training equipment, as well as air-conditioned facilities for billiards, pool table, and table tennis. The campus also features an indoor badminton court, an international-size cricket ground with three center turf pitches, and practice cricket nets for aspiring cricketers. Other sports facilities include basketball courts, volleyball courts, lawn tennis courts, a 400-meter cinder running track, and an international-size football field.
NSUT students actively participate in various sports events, including the North Zone Inter-University and All India Inter-University Tournaments, as well as national-level competitions organized by IITs, NITs, and other professional institutions. In addition to participating in these events, the Department of Physical Education also organizes inter-college and inter-university tournaments to promote sportsmanship and competition.
Furthermore, the university offers Value Addition Courses such as Yoga, Sports-01, and Sports-02 under the NEP scheme through the Department of Personality Development. Fee reimbursement and Incentives
NSUT has introduced a fee reimbursement program for top-ranking students admitted to the university, as well as financial assistance for students from financially weaker backgrounds, under the Chhatra Vittiya Sahayta Evam Protsahan Kosh (CVSPK) Scheme-2020. This scheme not only aims to provide support to deserving students but also offers incentives for students who join Defense Services, gain admission to IIMs, or secure spots at top-ranking universities worldwide.
