                ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY

Gautam Buddha University was established under the Uttar Pradesh Gautam Buddha University Act, 2002 (U.P. Act No. (9 ) of 2002), and came into existence in the year 2008.The University is recognized by UGC under section 2(f)and 12-B of UGC Act, 1956 and is accredited by NAAC. The University envisions to integrate our National Ethos, Rich Heritage and the Ancient Wisdom with the education and research to invoke high standards of quality and innovativeness to beat par with international benchmarks. Gautam Buddha University has 455 acres of lush green campus with the builtup area of 8,000,000sq.ftat Greater N0ida. The fully residential campus is modelled in line with the best institutions of higher learning across the globe. The fee structure shall be decided or may the University from time to time.Common fee (Table B), Academic fee (Table C) and Hostel fees (Table D) are same for the foreign Nationals from SAARC and ASEAN Nations and India Nationals. Table A& E not applicable.

Rules For Change Branch

                Refund Policy

In case, a newly admitted candidate applies for change or switchover to another programme. she/he may not have to deposit registration fee again. However, this flexibility of registration fee is permissible once only.

Voluntary withdrawal from the programme subject to adhering to the below given policy of the University:

·                     Academic fee shall be refunded in case of with drawal of admission from the programme of study in which he/she is enrolled as per UGC norms.

·                     Security deposit shall be refunded in full.

·                     Once the hostel is allotted then hostel fee for the semester shall not be refunded in case of withdrawal of admission.

·                     Mess fee shall be refunded to all the students on prorate basis.

·                     The last date of seeking admissions,as communicated in the provisional admission.

                Central Computer Center (CCC)

The Central Computer Center is a central facility that caters to the computing needs of faculty, staff and students. This facility operates 24x7 throughout the year, serving as the hub for computer related services on the campus. It is well-equipped with advanced computers, necessary peripherals, and essential software. Additionally, the Central Computer Centre is equipped with power backup through two high-end 80 KVA UPS units and a generatorset.Air Conditioning is provided by a precision AC & VRV AC plants.

·      Linux / Windows desktops are accessible in all classrooms across various school labs to facilitate e-learning and interactive lab sessions during classes. The CCC network backbone operates on Fiber Optic connectivity, interconnecting the computer center, School of Studies, and administrative offices. The access network utilizes structured UTP network infrastructure incorporating approximately 400 units of 10/100 Mbps switches.The University is equipped with a 2Gbps band width for internet connectivity obtained from the National Knowledge Network (NKN) and other ISPs.

·      CCC offers easy access of excellent computational facilities to both faculty and students, boasting over 900 computers that cater to their academic, research, and recreational needs. The entire campus is interlinked through LAN and seamless wireless connectivity, facilitated by Cisco APs,which are managed by the WLC (Wireless LAN Controller) Cisco 5508.Over 250 indoor AP sare strategically installed to ensure connectivity across various buildings, including different schools within the University.

·      Next Gen Firewalls are installed to detect Malware, Spyware, and viruses at the gateway level, thereby securing the network from potential threats.

·      Multiple servers are installed in the CCC data centre for various application used by different schools and labs.

 

                Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Dhyan Kendra(Meditation Centre)

Mahatama Jyotiba Phule Dhyan Kendra, popularly known as the Meditation Centre, is designed to visually tie the earth with the sky when viewed in the horizon.It is inspired by the Stupa architecture (a symbolism of Buddhist Stupa), is a learning and retreat centre which gives an experience of the power of peace and inner silence to the students of the University  besides their regular curriculum.The centre aims to  create a community back round the pursuit of living a more mindful,reflective and skilful life.It focuses to develop the meditation skills o  of its members and foster discussion of matters of practical importance. Personality trait and mindfulness are associated in a way to understand ourselves and those around us and consequentially be able to demonstrate skills respond to the society peacefully. These skills could be, for example, working with others, solving problems, decision making adapting to change etc.

The centre organizes seminars, lectures and experiential workshops on Buddhist meditation, positive values, stress free living and self-management. . The purpose of meditation is the cultivation of positive states of mind, conducive to peace and well-being,The course is a chance for the students to centre themselves with a calm mind and develop clarity of perception, a sense of healing and the ability to connect to an inner source of energy.

 

                Planning and Research Cell

The office of the Dean Planning & Research looks after various Research Projects which are being sponsored by different funding agencies like Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Council of Scientific& Industrial Research (CSIR), Department of Science & Technology (DST), Indian Council of Social Science Research(ICSSR),Indian Council of Historical Research(ICHR),Indian Council of Philosophical Research (ICPR), etc. These projects of approximately Rs. 60000000 (Six crore) are ongoing at different stages of growth and development at various Schools of the University. An umber of Junior Research Fellow (JRF), Senior Research Fellow (SRF), Research Associate and Research Assistant (RA) and Principal Investigator (Pl) under Women Scientist Scheme-DST are also working in different projects under the meticulous supervision and mentorship of our esteemed faculty members. We also encourage different other fellowships like Ramanujan Fellowship of Department of Science and Technology under the scheme for brilliant Indian Scientists and Engineers from outside India to take up scientific research positions in India,those Indian Scientist/ Engineers who want to return to India from abroad. The University has state of the art laboratories in all the Schools a part from well-equipped Computer Centre. Apart from the above, registration for copyrights and patents are also been taken care of by this office. Various  copy rights and patent have been granted and filed under patent law. A numbe rof MoUs with different organizations have also been signed by the University.

 

                GBU Incubation Centre

Entrepreneurship and Incubation:The Units regular efforts to equip students with the right skills and tools, Gautam Buddha University has an Incubation Center which which works like anacceleratorforyoungentrepreneurs.Frombootstrappingtotechnicaltraining,and from mentorship to financial and technical aid,GBU Incubation Center is the one place where students can find every thing they  need.The incubation center is one of its kind that helps and propagate entrepreneurship, which in turn addresses issues like local area development, niche sector growth, employment generation and economic growth. The Incubation Centre of GBU is duly recognized by ministry of MSME Gol, and UP Startup Policy.


 

                Sports Facilities

The University promotes multi-dimensional growth with emphasis on an integrated physical and intellectual learning and training.  The Eklavya Sports Complex of the University is spread over approx. 47 acres with indoor and outdoor stadiums of global standard, equipped with state-of-the art sports facilities. It is the hub of sports activities in the University.

The University has a good number of experienced coaches for Badminton, Basketball, Football, Volleyball, Cricket, and Table Tennis games, to provide guidance and training in concerned sports event 'Shauryotsav', the annual sports festival of the University aims at motivating students to participate and add physical extensions to their intellectual quests. University organised Shauryotsav every year in which almost all students (Boys and Girls) participate in approximately 100 different sports events.

The multifarious medical needs  of the Campus residents including students,faculty,staff members and their dependents are met by the University Dispensary. The Dispensary is equipped with a team of full time and visiting Medical professionals co- ordinated by Nursing Supervisor.Patients registered at the reception are served on first come first serve basis, however out of turn consultation is provided in case  of emergency and for senior citizens. In OPD,clinical consultation is provided to the patients which also includes;patient's clinical history,clinical examination,diagnosis,hence forth diagnosis and prescriptions are provided to patients and laboratory tests suggested, if required. OPD facility covers waiting hall with chairs, public utilities like drinking water and toilets. Sub waiting areas are available in front of individual consultation room.Wheel Chairs and attendants are there to help patients. Other facilities include Ward/Indoor facility, Minor OT, Physiotherapy, Laboratory services, ECG services, Pharmacy, 24x7 Ambulance services. Annually organizing free health check-up camp, free orthopedic & physiotherapy camp, yoga camp. etc. for University student's/residents by Dispensary in collaboration with leading hospitals of Delhi/NCR. Annually organizing voluntary blood donation camps by dispensary in association with Red Cross society and leading blood banks. Providing Health education for visiting patients in Dispensary by medical professionals.

                STUDENTS SUPPORT AND PROGRESSION

Each school of the University has an efficient and competent system for student support and mentoring them to provide academic, career and psychological counseling to the students. Students are supported through mentoring in academics, sports and cultural activities.Theyareguidedtodeveloptheirpersonalityandsoftskills.Theyarecounselled to develop professional competitiveness as well asethics ,humanvalues ,sense of social responsibility and environmental consciousness. Students are encouraged to participate in activities for social and community services. The University is very sensitive to the issues of gender equality and has'Gender-Sensitive Policy'.Students are encouraged to maintain gender discrimination free environment. Street plays/Skits related to such issues are enacted in the campus on various occasions by the students of various cultural groups. Debates/Talks are organized for encouraging students to make campus a safe placeforeverystudentirrespectiveofgenderandculture.TheUniversityalsohasazero- tolerance policy for issues related to sexual harassment.

                Facilities for Differently-Abled Persons(DIVYANG)

With special consideration for differently-abled persons, the University has provision as per UP Statereservationpolicy. For 'Barrier FreeAccess' theUniversity has constructed ramps at all Schools/ Departments, administrative building, central library, hostels and shoppingcomplex.ThereisafacilityofliftsinalltheSchools,administrativebuilding,and central library with separate wash room facility in all the School buildings.

 

                National Service Scheme (NSS)

The National Service Scheme(NSS) is a government-run program in India that aims to provide students with opportunities to engage in community service and develop their leadership skills. The chief objective of NSS is to inculcate the spirit of social service among students and to provide them with an opportunity to work for the welfare of the community. The program is open to students in colleges and universities and is run by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports,GovernmentofIndia.GBUcurrentlyhasthreeunitsofNSS.Eachunitconsistsof100 student volunteers with program officer. Various activities have been carried out under the scheme such as maintain a green and clean campus,environmental sustainability,winter cloth distribution among poor and needy people, blood donation camp, free eye check-up camp, road safety awareness and Nasha Mukti awareness programs.We also conduct one day and 07-day special camps to volunteers for volunteers in the adopted villages nearby from GBU. Special camping programs are usually held for a period of 7 days, during which students participate in community service activities such as cleaning, plantation, and health and sanitationprograms.TheNSSisconsideredtobeanimportantprograminIndiaasithelpsin the development of a sense of responsibility and concern for the community among young people.Italsohelpstodevelopleadershipskills,teamwork,andasenseofsocialresponsibility in students.

 

                National Cadet Corps (NCC)

_The University encourages students to participate in National Cadet Corps(NCC) activities in order to educate them for "Unity and Discipline" which is the motto of NCC. The NCC cadets contribute towards social development by providing leadership, participating in community service, national and cultural

integration, understanding the value of physical education with adventure training and promoting awareness through social programmes. Currently, the University has 1 girl (31 UP (Girls) Battalion NCC, Greater Noida) platoon which enrolls 50 female students for Senior-Wing NCC training leading to'B' and'C' certificates. The University has also applied for permanent seats in NCC Senior-Wing (Boys) and is hopeful to get it soon.

                                Cultural Council

The Cultural Council promotes co-curricular and cultural activities among the students through its wide variety of events throughout the year to inculcate the values of our ancient wisdom and cultural heritage. University focuses on the all-round development of its students hence to strike a balance between books, syllabus and curriculum, co-curricular activities are incorporated to enhance the creative intellectual,moral,social and cultural development to the student. Throughout the year various cultural events are organized by different clubs of the Cultural Council where students get the opportunity to develop and exhibit their skills and non- academic abilities. University's annual cultural event 'Abhivyanjana' intends to add wings to intellect,imagery,andcreativityofourstudents.Itaimsatdissolvingtheculturaldemarcations and facilitates a new school of thought where every student thinks beyond boundaries.It also gives a platform to the budding managers, team leaders and team players, testing their own abilities against all odds.              SCHOLARSHIPS AND ASSISTANTSHIP

GBU, along with other funding agencies, provides various scholarships and assistant ships to support students.

i.            Merit-Based Scholarship for B.Tech. Students: Candidates securing 80% or above in their Class 12 examination and opting for B.Tech. in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering are eligible for a 50% tuition fee relaxation. (Not applicable to working professionals.)

ii.            Scholarship for SC/ST Students: Students from SC/ST categories receive a 50% scholarship on tuition fees. The remaining tuition fee may be covered as per U.P. Government regulations.

iii.             Assistant ship for M.Tech.Students:GATE-qualified M.Tech.students may be engaged as teaching assistants based on the academic workload.


 

iv.             Annual Merit Scholarship :Awarded to students securing top positions based on academic performance.

v.            Teaching Assistant ship for Research Scholars:Doctoral students without UGC/CSIR or other fellowships may receive teaching assistant ship support to aid their studies.

vi.             Medical / Health Insurance: The university arranges medical and health insurance coverage for students.

                New Entrant Scholarship

Admission (NES-A): The New Entrant Scholarship: Admission (NES-A) is awarded to meritorious students at the time of admission and is valid for one academic year. After successfully completing the first year, NES-A recipients may become eligible for the New Entrant Scholarship: Academic Progress (NES-AP), provided they meet the university's minimum CGPA and other prescribed criteria.At the time of admission,candidates must meet the following requirements:

i.             Achieve at least 80%aggregate marks in all subjects in Class 12.

ii.            Meet the minimum eligibility criteria prescribed by the university for the chosen program.

iii.             Pass all subjects on the first attempt, without appearing for improvement or supplementary exams in the same or following year.

iv.             Hold qualifications from CBSE, ISCE,or State Boards.

                Mukhyamantri Abhyudaya Vojna Centre: Abhyu-daya Vojnaisa free scheme for economically weaker students for the Civil Services and other competitive exams aspirants. The platform facilitates services of IAS, IPS and IFS officers from various government institutions and experts that provide multidisciplinary training to the aspirants of civil services and other competitive examinations through live classes and virtual medium.

                Career Counseling: lies at the core of CRC's focus. It is imperative to steer the young minds at all times, so astoenable them to achieve their target careers in the most efficient and effective way. Hence, CRC helps students understand how best they can utilize classroom course work training and apply it in the real world
