About the Institute

National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research, Bhopal is a premier institution dedicated to the advancement of quality technical education and teacher training in India. Established in 1965 by the Government of India under the Ministry of Education, the institute was founded with the objective of strengthening technical teacher education, curriculum development, research, training, and institutional development in engineering and technology disciplines.

Over the decades, NITTTR Bhopal has evolved into a distinguished center of academic excellence, educational innovation, faculty development, and applied research in technical and vocational education. The institute has made significant contributions toward the modernization of engineering and polytechnic education through specialized training programs, consultancy services, instructional resource development, outcome-based education initiatives, and strong industry collaborations.

In recognition of its outstanding contribution to higher technical education and research, the institute was granted the status of “Deemed to be University” in 2024. NITTTR Bhopal is approved by All India Council for Technical Education and recognized by University Grants Commission for offering postgraduate and doctoral programs in engineering, management, education, and allied disciplines.
