Alumni Affairs
The office of Alumni Affairs at NIT, Uttarakhand (NITUK) provide a forum that encourage and promote interaction and networking among alumni of Institute and Alma Mater. We invite the alumni for career guidance and counselling to undergraduate and postgraduate students through Alumni Talk Series. Alumni Meets are organized every year to re-establish the connection with our alumni and making a stronger bond with the Institute. The Alumni Association of NITUK is connecting the alumni with NITUK, emotionally, financially and provides a platform of personal growth.
•Between the Alumni themselves: Share knowledge, experiences, views and opportunities
•Between Alumni and Faculty: Networking with Industry, Supplement their teaching resources with guest lectures, seminars and collaborative research efforts.
• Between Alumni and Students: Mentoring, internships and placement opportunities, sponsorships, prizes and prestigious nomination awards.
• Between Alumni and Institution: Contribute in institution’s efforts towards social causes and building infrastructure.
Presently Alumni of NIT, Uttarakhand are serving in various Prestigious Govt. Organizations such as Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd., Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL), Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Central Water Commission, CPWD, Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Airport Authority of India (AAI), NHAI, BEL etc. Our alumni are placed in Top private industries mainly Amazon, Google, Micron, CISCO, QUALCOMM, Voltas etc. Not only holding such esteemed positions in Govt organizations and industries, our alumni have chosen to go for higher studies at various reputed academic institutions of India and abroad as well such as Georgia Tech, University of Virginia, University of Florida, University of Texas Dallas, University of Notre dame, Michigan Technological University, IISc Banglore, IIT Mumbai, IIT Delhi, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, IIT Kanpur, IIT Roorkee, IIT BHU, IIT Dhanbad, IIT Ropar and there are many more.

Industry-Institute Interaction
The major objective of Industry-institute interaction is to develop a bond between Industry and Academia for mutual benefit and growth of industries as well as institutions. To prepare engineering graduates ready for the jobs in industries, it is necessary to know the requirements of the industries through industry-institute interaction. The Industry-Institute Interaction provides the platform to understand the best engineering practices, latest technological advancement, promote industrial experts to patriciate in curriculum design and exposure to engineering students for industrial atmosphere. To promote Industry-Institute Interaction, following objectives are being undertaken:
• Memorandum of Understanding between the Institute and Industries.
• Invite Industries to establish chair professor at NIT, Uttarakhand.
• Participation of Industry experts in curriculum design.
• Organizing Workshops, Conferences and training program with Joint collaboration with Industries.
• B.Tech. Projects and M.Tech. dissertation work in industries under joint guidance of the faculty and experts from the Industry.
• Consultancy and Industrial testing by the faculty to Industry.
• Internship and Practical training of students in Industries.
• Encourage industry executives and practicing engineers to visit the institution for delivering expert lectures on best engineering practices, technological advancement and experiences.
• Visit of Industry experts and engineers to the Institute for seeing research work and laboratories.
• Invite Industries to establish research laboratories in emerging area of technology for mutual benefits.
• Invite Industry Professionals to visit campus and deliver 1, 2 & 3 credit course, which are typically 10-12, 20-24 or 32-36 hours of engagement of students which can be done on weekends depending upon Availability.
• Invite the Industries to establish centers of advance technologies for professional of industries leading to PG/Ph.D. Program for their Employees.
• Invite Industry to engage students of NIT Uttarakhand as intern for 2 to 6 months on job training.
